What is it?
Profhilo is an injectable skin remodelling treatment containing one of the highest concentrations of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) on the market ( 64mg/ ml), especially formulated for people whose skin lacks volume and elasticity.

What is it used for?
Rather than just plumping and filling wrinkles, the slow release of hyaluronic acid stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, in turn improving skin tone, hydration and the appearance of fine lines. The result is improved skin quality lasting for up to 6 months.
How does the treatment work?
Hyaluronic acid is hydrophilic, meaning it draws and holds water from your body, so acts as a hydrator rather than filler. This makes it fantastic for those with tired, dull-looking skin, transforming it into firm and luminous skin. This effect takes place within 3-5 days of treatment.
Over the next few weeks collagen and elastin production is stimulated, producing a secondary effect of skin tightening. This is useful because levels of collagen, elastin and Hyaluronic Acid in the skin rapidly drop from the age of 25, resulting in signs of ageing such as fine lines, wrinkles and lacklustre skin. It acts to reverse some of these changes. The maximum effect is usually seen 2 months after the second treatment.

Is Profhilo better than dermal filler?
Both contain hyaluronic acid but are ‘crosslinked’ in different ways effecting the action of each. Profhilo improves skin quality and tone, whereas dermal filler creates structure for the skin to lay on and varies depending on concentration of the dermal filler product. Dermal filler can create volume and improve skin quality too. Dermal filler can be used all over the face. Profhilo can only be used on the mid-lower face. Treatment with Profhilo improves skin tone, texture, hydration and overall radiance. It can help to increase firmness and elasticity and promote healthier and softer-looking skin. They compliment each other as treatments. Profhilo is good at increasing skin elasticity reducing skin laxity and improving skin quality. They work well together as aesthetic treatments.
Is Profhilo better than Botox?
It is not about saying what is better. More like compliments each other. Profhilo will improve the overall appearance of the skins hydration and elasticity. This means fine lines and wrinkles are softened. Botox or anti-wrinkle treatments work by stopping muscles temporarily working and in effect softened wrinkles. Botox can be used on the whole face, whereas Profhilo cannot only be used on the mid-lower face.
Can you use Profhilo under the eyes?
No. You can use other skin booster ( Sunekos 200, Jalupro or nucleofill ) treatments offered at my clinic in this area. These are similar to in action.
